March 2026 RING 129 – Presidential Column

WHY?

Early in my magical journey, I was a huge fan of Doc Eason.  I devoured all of his articles in Michael Ammar’s Magical Arts Journal and ordered all of his videos.  I had them on VHS (yes, THAT long ago…) and would watch them over and over again.  I was most fascinated by his style rather than the actual routines.  He was always so smooth and incredibly well rehearsed that his presentations were the most natural I had ever seen.  The pacing of each phase of his performance was conversational and comfortable to watch.

Ring 129 report for February 2026.

Mark Strivings braved a snowstorm to get to the KC area in time to present a scheduled lecture January 26. The lecture consisted of several routines that could be performed with items we have on hand—cards, dice, etc. One thing that I liked is a practice that used to be commonplace but is rare nowadays—all of the routines that he taught were included in a ten-dollar set of notes that he had for sale. He did have a number of other items for sale, but these he presented only after the lecture itself had concluded.
